Shown below is the difference in combo beam patterns with or without the clear wide lens.

The left images are without the lens and is considered a standard combo beam. It features good width in the immediate area in front of the vehicle and then a super strong spot down the middle of the road, reaching up to a massive 1450 meters at 1 lux!
The right images are with the clear covers that create a wider combo beam. The lens optics focus on spreading the centre hot spot, giving the beam a more even spread across the road or track. While the overall distance does come down to 1200m at 1 lux, the overall coverage of the beam is what makes this option incredibly viable.
